Over the weekend, Lost Valley Cider Co. (408 W. Florida St.) celebrated its eighth anniversary. While acknowledging the milestone, the owners of Milwaukee’s first dedicated cider bar also announced that 2024 will be its final year in operation.

As part of a message Lost Valley posted on its Facebook page, owners say “as a family, we have made the tough decision not to renew our lease that ends later this year.” According to that post, an official closing date will be announced this fall. You can read the full announcement below:

Wow! This day in 2016 we officially opened our doors inside the Brix building on Florida Street. Since then we have served up hundreds of different ciders and hosted many cider brands, we took epic double-decker bus trips and cider tours, we canned and distributed our own cider, we pivoted through the pandemic and most recently remodeled our OG space. Even more so, we’ve met so many cider lovers and have made forever friends. We want to thank all of you for your support over the last eight years — it truly has been an adventure!

“Cider? I hardly know her!” When we first opened our goal was to bring the entire breadth of cider to Milwaukee and its visitors. We firmly believe that there is a cider for everyone you may just not have tried yours yet. Over the years it’s been great to see how many cider converts we have made while also being a haven for existing cider lovers. It truly has been a shared adventure exploring ciders from near and far.

That being said, we are preparing to take our next steps in our personal journeys. As a family, we have made the tough decision not to renew our lease that ends later this year. We want to share this information with you now because we want to see you and celebrate with you over this summer. We will definitely be here through the Summer and announce our official closing date in the early Fall.

We love and appreciate your support and hope to raise a glass with you a few more times before we officially close later this year. Let’s have an epic summer! Cheers!

Though no official closing date has been provided, cider enthusiasts have just a few more months to swing by Lost Valley. You’ve been warned, Milwaukee.
