This past Saturday, Milwaukee Record and Busch Light teamed up to host “The Great Milwaukee Can Koozie Swap & Bar Chip Bonanza” at Promises. From 1-5 p.m., dozens of people came to the Walker’s Point bar to trade can koozies with each other. Adding to the can cooler-focused fun was the introduction of our Prize Wheel, which folks were able to spin if they gave us a drink chip (or drink chip-like item) from any bar, restaurant, brewery, or distillery…regardless if it was still in business or not.
It was a weird and altogether entertaining time. Deals were made, prizes were won, “HOT DOG!” was chanted, and fun was had. Thanks to Busch Light for sponsoring, to Promises for hosting us, and to all who took part in this unconventional event. We’re hoping to do it again sometime next year! Before we put the leftover hot dogs in the freezer and start making plans for 2024’s “TGMCKS&BCB,” we wanted to put all our chips on the table and let you know the drink tokens we were given—and other bar chip-like items we accepted—at Saturday’s event.
