We try to be fair and impartial here at Milwaukee Record, but we’re just going to say it: Club Garibaldi has the best wings in Milwaukee. Fight us! (Please don’t actually fight us.) Sadly, the venerable Bay View bar hasn’t been open since March 17, meaning Milwaukee has been without one of its finest bar foods for more than three weeks. However, G’s has an Easter weekend miracle up its sleeve. This week Saturday and Sunday (and again on April 18 and April 19), the bar will offer its legendary wings—and ONLY its wings—on a carryout basis.
Since nothing can be easy in this post-coronavirus world, Garibaldi management has implemented some rules and restrictions in order to make the pick-up process as easy and safe as possible. From a Facebook post from Club Garibaldi earlier this week:
To our beloved and ever-so-missed Club G family, we hope that this finds you all well. After a lot of thought and planning, we have decided to honor our many requests and pleas to open our kitchen and sell our wings to-go on a limited basis. We are going to make this happen on Saturday April 11th, Sunday April 12th, Saturday April 18th, and Sunday April 19th from 12-5pm.
However, the only way to make this work is If the following rules are followed and understood by everyone:1. Orders will be taken OVER THE PHONE, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 until 5pm. There will be no walk-up orders. All orders must be placed over the phone at (414) 483-6335
2. All orders must be paid for IN CASH. No credit cards, Apple Pay, checks, etc. will be accepted. Exact change is super appreciated, as we are trying to limit interaction.
3. PLEASE DO NOT CONGREGATE OUTSIDE OF THE DOORS. This defeats the whole purpose and minimizes the potential for our normal life to resume. We miss you all too, but social distance people. We will attempt to give you accurate wait times within a 15 min window when you call, we will ask for your phone number to reach you and will call you when your order is ready to pick up at the door. Please wait in your car until we call or at the very least don’t congregate outside of our door.
4. As many of you know, our kitchen is “basic”. Until we are able to resume business as usual, we are ONLY SERVING WINGS, and only in the following increments. In order to keep the flow and our wait times accurate, we will not be accepting special requests. 12 wings – $12.00, 18 wings – $18.00.
