Don’t let the recent dearth of news coming from the Trapper Schoepp & The Shades camp fool you—Schoepp and his band have been busy. The group just finished up a three-week tour with The Jayhawks, and a new album—produced by Brendan Benson and possibly featuring Marc Maron on guitar—is expected sometime next year. In the meantime, Schoepp will play a solo set at the Aloft Milwaukee Downtown hotel this Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The show is part of Paste Magazine’s live music series, which documents 20 different artists performing at 20 different Aloft hotels across the country. A previous Milwaukee session from 2013 featured Vic And Gab.

In preparation for the show (and the upcoming album), please enjoy this video of Schoepp being interviewed by two 5th graders, which was shot two years ago today. (Consider this your “Today in Trapper Schoepp History” fun fact.)
