Even though we’re now more than a week into August, there’s still a lot of summer fun left. Adding to large-scale event undertakings like Wisconsin State Fair, Milwaukee Irish Fest, and Bay View Bash is a steady wave of other festivals, block parties, and music series that are scheduled to happen in and around “The City Of Festivals” between now and summer’s end.

The latest to be announced is a street party that will be taking place outside of Milwaukee’s first sensory deprivation flotation tank business. On Friday, August 23, Float Milwaukee will host Float Fest 2024. Starting at 5:30 p.m., a parcel of pavement on the 200 block of Freshwater Way will be closed off to allow for live entertainment, food vendors, and fun.

Your senses won’t be deprived at Float for a change, as the likes of Immortal Girlfriend and Night Spice will perform. There will be fire-bending, fire-eating, and hoop-dancing by Taylor Flows, as well as aerialism from Mooncat and Kristin Smarelli, along with pole dancing from Pole Factory MKE. Adventure Rock will bring a climbing wall to the fest, too. Float Festers are also encouraged to pick up food from Float’s neighbor Ruta’s Cafe, on-site vendor Flour Girl & Flame, as well as sweet treats from nearby Purple Door Ice Cream. Broken Bat Brewing will also have beer, seltzer, and non-alcoholic options available for purchase on-site.

But there’s more! Those who attend the event will be the first people who can take advantage of Float’s ninth anniversary specials, which the business says are so good they can’t mention them quite yet. Float Fest is free to attend. For more information on the event or to RSVP for updates and a chance to win prizes, go HERE.
