Our friends at The Vanguard aren’t afraid to shake things up from time to time. Less than two weeks removed from temporarily transforming into a sports bar concept called “Whooterz” for a Halloween pop-up, the Bay View bar and sausage emporium has added a handful of new items to its regular menu.
This past week, The Vanguard quietly unveiled six newcomers created by Scott Zajork, including four specialty sausages and two indulgent sides. The Swede
Pork, beef, nutmeg, allspice, and Parmesan with creamy dill gravy, lingonberry sauce, and pickled cucumber

The Steakhouse
Beef, rosemary, and thyme with roasted mushrooms, steak sauce, blue cheese crumbles, and crispy onions.

Smokey The Boar
Bourbon, maple syrup, and red pepper flakes with apple sauce, French fries, sour cream, and double smoked bacon.

Hot Szechuan Chicken
All chicken sausage with cayenne and paprika with Szechuan oil, Kewpie mayo, cilantro lime slaw, and spicy pickles.

Grilled Cheese Panzanella
Halloumi cheese with sweet potato, rutabaga, arugula, trail mix, and pickled onion.

Fried Brussels Sprouts
Brussels sprouts tossed in Gochijang vinaigrette topped with Kewpie mayo, fried garlic, and scallions.
