You might be reading this and thinking to yourself, “Wait, didn’t Milwaukee Record already do an N/A Day event this month?” Yes, we hosted our fourth annual Milwaukee N/A Day “Dry January” beverage festival at The Cooperage and it was awesome. However, much like last year, we’ll also be hosting an installment of Madison N/A Day at The Bur Oak (2262 Winnebago St.) this month. This one will be taking place over the course of two sessions happening on Saturday, January 18.
Last year’s Madison debut sold out. Sales to this year’s are steadily climbing, but in true Wisconsin fashion, some of you are waiting until the last possible moment to buy your ticket…even though purchasing in advance will save you more than $7 per ticket. If you’re somehow still on the fence about going to N/A Day in Madison, allow us to give you seven great reasons you should join us at The Bur Oak this Saturday afternoon. Cheers!
It’s the best way to try dozens upon dozens of N/A drinks
We know that’s a bold statement, but think about it. For one modest fee, you get to walk around and sample more than 50 beverages from all corners of the non-alcoholic spectrum. Madison’s event includes offerings from the likes of: Athletic Brewing, Best Day, Canni Hemp, Clausthaler, Ghia, G.O.A.T. Fuel, Great Lakes Distillery, Happi, Hoplark, Juvee, Kind Oasis, Kul Mocks, Lagunitas, Lakefront Brewery, Liquid Death, Luck Energy, Once Upon A Coconut, RA! Wellness, Riot Pop, Siren Shrub, The Village Pharm, and Visitor.
You can stock up for the rest of the month on-site!
In past years, some vendors have sold their non-alcoholic offerings on-site, allowing people to immediately buy something they like so they can enjoy it at home. And if that’s not an option at some tables, most vendors are happy to let folks know where their products are available at area grocers, liquor stores, bars, and restaurants or online.
It’s not just drinks
Beyond the beverages, we’ve also invited a few area businesses that are in the hemp, CBD, Delta 8, and Delta 9 realm to attend. Most of them will be situated in The Bur Oak’s basement. Beyond the free beverage samples each will be pouring, you might even be able to buy edibles (including a jar of Milwaukee Record gummies from the Kind Oasis table) on Saturday. Nice!
The Packers aren’t playing, so no worries about missing a playoff game
Too soon? Sorry. If one microscopic bit of positive news can be salvaged from last Sunday’s heartbreaking Packers playoff loss, it’s the fact you’re now able to make weekend plans in January without the fear they’ll accidentally overlap with a postseason game. Saturday is wide open! And if you buy tickets to Session 1 of N/A Day (running noon to 2 p.m.), you can still be home in time for the first NFL playoff game on Saturday.
Madison rules!
Yes, this is a “work trip,” but we’re really looking forward to spending some time in Madison catching up with old friends, making new friends, and stopping by some of our favorite haunts in Wisconsin’s capital. If you’re a reader who lives in or around Madison, we hope to see you on Saturday. If you’re a reader who lives in Milwaukee (or elsewhere within a short-to-moderate drive to Madison), we urge you to make a day—or even a weekend—of it by stopping by The Bur Oak, then partaking in a few of the city’s many fine restaurants, museums, venues, and other attractions.
What else would you be doing on a Saturday afternoon in the beginning of January?
It’s early January and it’s probably going to be in the 20s. What other plans did you have? Even if you’re planning to do something Saturday night, you can easily swing by The Bur Oak in the early afternoon to take a lap and enjoy a social outing with none of the New Year’s resolution-bending guilt.
Our Milwaukee N/A Day already happened, so this is your last chance to partake in the event until early 2026
If you missed the Milwaukee N/A Day we hosted at The Cooperage back on January 4, this will be your final opportunity to enjoy a “Dry January” beverage festival with us until, well, next January. So if you want to try a wide range of non-alcoholic beverages, get out of the house this weekend, and have some fun in Madison, this is the event for you.
Now that we’ve totally sold you on attending, save yourself some time and money and BUY YOUR TICKET NOW. We’ll see you there!
