Hey! The 2019 Milwaukee Film Festival begins in less than two weeks! (It runs October 17-31.) Tickets are on sale NOW! The whole thing is going to be great, but the fest’s Cinema Hooligante program (sponsored by Milwaukee Record) is going to be especially great! Wanna know why? Well, in addition to all the zany/wonderful/Twin Peaks-y stuff that has already been announced, the festival has just added The Lodge to the mix! The Lodge is the latest horror film from the aunt/nephew directors of 2014’s Goodnight Mommy (Veronika Franz and Severin Fiala), and good grief does it looks good.

Here’s the official synopsis:

A bone-chilling nightmare from the directors of GOODNIGHT MOMMY, THE LODGE follows a family who retreat to their remote winter cabin over the holidays. When the father (Richard Armitage) is forced to abruptly depart for work, he leaves his children, Aidan (IT’s Jaeden Martell) and Mia (Lia McHugh) in the care of his new girlfriend, Grace (Riley Keough). Isolated and alone, a blizzard traps them inside the lodge as terrifying events summon specters from Grace’s dark past.

The film will screen only once: October 30 at 10 p.m. at the Avalon. Get your tickets HERE. AHHHH!
