With the city’s abundance of historic theaters and (usually) polite comedy audiences, Milwaukee has all the makings of an ideal place for comedians to film specials. Louis C.K. shot his 2010 concert film Hilarious at the Pabst Theater. Ralphie May’s 2012 special Too Big To Fail was shot there too, as was Jeff Dunham’s Very Special Christmas Special. Soon, Kathleen Madigan will join the ranks of talented comics (and Jeff Dunham) who have immortalized their performances at the venue.

Monday, the 20-plus-year veteran Lewis Black considers to be “The funniest comic in America. Bar none.” announced on Twitter that she’s going to shoot her next special in Milwaukee in October, citing the “great crowds” (and the apparently required nod to brats and beer). It will be the Missouri-born funnywoman’s fifth special, and her latest since 2013’s Kathleen Madigan: Madigan Again. The exact date (of what will likely be two shows) and ticket information will be available soon.
