On Monday, the Milwaukee Film Festival announced that veteran comedian Barry Crimmins would be coming to town to attend two screenings of Call Me Lucky, the Bobcat Goldthwait documentary about the influential humorist’s legendary comedy career, the sexual abuse he sustained as a child, and the instrumental role he played in introducing legislation to combat the online distribution of child pornography. With some spare time between showings of the critically-heralded documentary Monday (4:15 p.m. at Avalon Theater) and Wednesday (9:30 p.m. at Downer Theatre), Crimmins has decided to make his time in Milwaukee even more memorable with a Tuesday evening performance at a Bay View bar.

In a mere six days, Crimmins will bring his decades of material to the diminutive stage at Frank’s Power Plant for an intimate evening affair. The FREE (21+) show features Crimmins and host/opener Tim Higgins. The show—sponsored by PBR, Milwaukee Comedy, and Milwaukee Record in association with Milwaukee Film Festival—begins at 6 p.m. Don’t miss this.
