Last April 14, an outstanding Milwaukee Day video showed how the isolated and silent city was “apart, but together” during the early days of the COVID-19 crisis. Though some of the circumstances of the still-present pandemic have not changed in the year since that video’s release, there is a new sense of hope, promise, and anticipation radiating through Milwaukee this particular April 14.
A new video that Imagine MKE and Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21 released this morning perfectly captures that. “414 (New) Day” pairs dazzling visuals from photographer Samer Ghani with an uplifting poem from author, speaker, and performer Dasha Kelly Hamilton that, when combined, illustrate that “our new day is coming.” Between Hamilton’s stirring city-centric message and Ghani’s awesome accompanying footage of local artists, musicians, landmarks, business owners, and other Cream City creatives doing their thing, Imagine MKE has given the city one heck of a Milwaukee Day gift.
