The world can be a rough place. Between the ever-widening political divide, the injustices so many face on a daily basis, and the unending string of tragedy and pain that permeates existence, it can all be too much sometimes. Though there’s no end to the suffering, there are temporary escapes from it. Things like the warm breeze on a sunny day, the tender embrace of a loved one, and pet parades serve as occasional reminders that life is (arguably) worth living.

Yesterday, the East Side played host to the annual Brady Street Pet Parade. Between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., the U.S. Bank-sponsored event offered human and canines alike a fun day of games, contests, live music, and more. If you missed it or you simply wish to relive the event, here are some photos of the Brady Street Pet Parade. [All photos by Kristy Tayler]
