Talking on the internet is weird. Back in the day it was all primitive chat rooms and AOL Instant Messenger. Then it was commenting—and arguing—at the bottom of articles. Then it was websites nuking their comment sections because there was too much arguing. Then it was stuff like Reddit. Then it was social media. Then it was more social media. And then it was practically nothing but social media. Which more or less brings us to today. Ugh.

So wouldn’t it be fun to talk on the internet again without having to wade through the increasingly awful swamp of social media? It would! That’s why we’ve created a relatively bare-bones, no-frills, Milwaukee-focused set of message-board forums we’re calling Read The Comments! You can find them…

HERE!

Wanna get in on the action? Just hit that “Register” button, enter a username and a working email (don’t worry, we won’t do anything with your email), check that email for a link to set a password (check your spam folder if you don’t see it), set your password, and you’re good to go!

If you’re a regular reader of this site—and if you go through the trouble of creating an account—we’re assuming you’re a person of culture and taste, and not an asshole. But we’ll say it anyway: BE COOL. We’ll be quick to delete/ban anything/anyone that stinks of racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. No personal attacks, no bullshit. Got a political opinion that might differ from other folks? Good for you. Just keep things civil and respectful. It’s easy!

So yeah, we’ll see how this pans out. Hopefully we can get a fun, funny, and robust community cooking here—a fun, funny, and robust community that isn’t dependent on social media. So talk amongst yourselves! Read the comments!
