Let’s make this quick so everyone can get to the yelling: A total of 61,274 people rode the Milwaukee streetcar, The Hop, in December 2019. That’s an average of 1,977 per day. The lightest day of traffic was Christmas (duh), when only 818 people rode the thing. The busiest day of traffic was December 27, when 3,446 folks hopped aboard.

The numbers are up slightly from November 2019, when 52,998 total rides were recorded. Remember back in September 2019, when ridership dipped slightly and we said it was TIME TO SCRAP THE WHOLE THING? We take it all back: this slight bump proves we should EXPAND THE HELL OUT OF THE THING.

Here are the numbers for The Hop’s first 14 months. And yes, it will remain free in 2020. And seriously: expand this thing. And seriously: sponsor this thing.
