Last week we rounded up 7 Milwaukee outdoor ice skating rinks for all your outdoor ice skating needs. This week, we’re here to tell you that one of the rinks—Red Arrow Park’s “Slice of Ice”–will host a superhero-themed “Downtown Ice CAPE-ade” on Saturday, February 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

“Participants are encouraged to dress in their best superhero attire with capes provided for children ages 10 and under on a first-come, first-served basis,” reads a press release from the event’s organizer, Milwaukee Downtown, BID #21. “Free ice skate rentals will also be provided, while supplies last, courtesy of WaterStone Bank.”

But there’s more! DJ Shawna will be spinning some tunes, there’ll be a free s’mores station, and “guests can meet-and-greet with everyday heroes, including local Olympians, the Milwaukee Fire Department, and Milwaukee Police Department.”

And there’s even more! Local restaurants and cafes will have some family-friendly specials. “Specials include free hot chocolate from Fiddleheads Coffee, BMO Tower, 790 N. Water Street; a complimentary dessert with a purchase at SafeHouse, 779 N. Front Street; and 20% off at Proof Pizza, 139 E. Kilbourn Avenue, located inside the Saint Kate.” Fun!
