Since its start in 2012, Silver City International Festival has celebrated the numerous cultures that help make Silver City the most diverse neighborhood in Milwaukee through food, the arts, and music. Last September, what would have been the ninth annual festival was canceled on account of the COVID-19 crisis. A pet parade happened in its place in an effort to draw people to local businesses in a safe and socially distant way.

After taking the year off from hosting the event in its traditional sense, we’re please to report Silver City International Festival will make its triumphant return next weekend. This year’s festival will take place at Arlington Heights Park (3429 W. Pierce St.) on Saturday, September 11. From noon to 5 p.m., the festival will offer live music performances, an eclectic blend of food and retail vendors, children’s activities, a martial arts demonstration, and a “community passport” activity guide. You can learn more about the event HERE.
