Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: Talk radio for the sane.
Milwaukee has no shortage of musical talent, and no shortage of musical talent creating videos to go along with their music. But what good are music videos in 2015? Are they promotional tools? Vanity projects? A way to kill time? Using WebsterX’s gorgeous new video for “Lately” as a jumping-off point, Ryan, Evan, and Matt ponder the role of modern music videos both locally and nationally, and wonder why so few artists make good music videos. Next, Evan hilariously recounts a recent trip to Miller Park and the newly-opened “Selig Experience,” an interactive exhibit that includes a hologram of former Commissioner of Baseball and Brewers owner Allan H. “Bud” Selig, a replica of his desk (complete with a ringing phone!) and over-the-top commentary from Bob Uecker.
