We here at Milwaukee Record are quite fond of a certain clock tower in town. Moreover, we especially enjoy when a certain temperature is displayed on said tower. Of course we’re talking about the number 69. For much of our 12-year existence, we’ve repeatedly populated our Instagram grid with pictures of the tower reading 69. We’ve put it on stickers and had it printed on what’s become our top-selling shirt. Heck, our now-discontinued gummies were even 69 mg and had the clock tower in all its 69-showing glory on their label.
Yes, we admit that making an effort to document instances of a local landmark showing an integer that corresponds to a sex position is immature, but it’s innocent (or kinda-sorta innocent, at least) fun that simultaneously signals the weather in Milwaukee is, well, nice. And oddly enough, it’s something that seems to bring people together, as folks are happy to alert us pretty much anytime this funny phenomenon happens.

Here’s where you come in. With June 9 (a.k.a. 6/9) on the horizon, we’re planning to put together an article together where we feature a total of 69 photos of the clock tower showing a temperature of 69. To be honest, we might already have enough of our own pictures to pull this off ourselves, but this isn’t exclusively “our” thing…it’s Milwaukee’s. So we want to put the call out for readers to submit their clock tower 69 photos.
Between now and the evening of June 8, you can email photos to [email protected] or leave them as a comment on our social media posts for this article. You can DM them to us if anonymity is preferred or toss ’em on our forum if it’s not. And please let us know if you’d like photo credit, otherwise we’ll assume you don’t because of, like, your job or whatever. It takes more than one person to achieve 69, so it’d be…nice if you were part of this collaborative and, yes, super childish project.
