Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we—with generous sponsorship from Skilos, A Family Pet Store—plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a pair of bonded buddies known as Gatsby and Fiesta.
Gatsby and Fiesta were rescued from the same area in Milwaukee and found themselves navigating indoor life together. Somewhere along the way became a bonded team. Gatsby is the outgoing half of the duo. Handsome, playful, and so gentle.

He’s the first to investigate, the first to gobble up treats, and usually the first to decide that a new person might be awesome. He has a soft spot for Fiesta and often keeps a watchful eye on her, like a little bodyguard.

Fiesta is the quieter one. A beautiful calico with a tender heart, she prefers to let Gatsby test the waters first. New situations can make her nervous, but having Gatsby nearby gives her confidence. When she feels safe, she’s so sweet and loves being scooped up for cuddles, as well as enjoying a well-earned Churu treat.

Together, they are two halves of a whole. Gatsby charges ahead. Fiesta hangs back. Gatsby says, “Let’s see what’s over there.” Fiesta says, “I’ll go if you’re going.” And at the end of the day, you’ll often find them curled up together, purring away in each other’s company.
Neither cat is demanding. They have a simple request: a quiet home, patient people, and a comfortable place to grow their confidence. If your home has room for two gentle souls who are better together, Gatsby and Fiesta would love to meet you.
