Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a striking female tuxedo called Veranda.
Meet Veranda! Veranda is a striking female Tuxedo with mesmerizing copper eyes and a quirky broken tail that always kicks up to the side (despite the unique shape, it doesn’t cause her any pain and just adds to her charm). Veranda is a purring machine, constantly offering her soothing vibrations as she snuggles up in bed with her favorite person.
Deeply protective of her objects of affection, Veranda isn’t shy about doling out gentle baps or chasing off anyone who tries to intrude on her snuggle time. This includes other cats, especially if they are less confident. Her strong-willed nature means she can be a bit bossy, but it’s all part of her lovable personality.
Veranda’s teeth are a bit cracked, and while it’s not a dealbreaker for adoption, she could benefit from a dental check-up if the opportunity arises. Her love for treats and food makes her easy to win over, and she’ll even allow a few belly rubs in exchange for her favorite snacks.
Veranda would thrive in a calm, adult-only home or with older, attentive children who understand her need for space and respect her boundaries. Ideally, her perfect home would include someone who is home often to shower her with the love and attention she craves. If you’re looking for a loyal, easygoing companion with a bit of sass and a whole lot of love to give, Veranda could be the perfect addition to your life.
