Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: a handsome lad named Mikey Mike.
Mikey Mike is a simple boy with simple joys. This handsome lad loves head butts, snacks, and comfy beds (in typical cat fashion, he prefers human beds over cat beds). If he’s not snoozing too hard, he’ll greet you when you get home with lots of those famous head butts. He loves spinning ball toys and wand toys, and he speaks in little quacks and croaky purrs.
He is considered a guard cat in his foster home. He often sits with his back facing towards you as he watches over the rest of the room. If he thinks you’re upset, he’ll immediately come over and give—you guessed it!—head butts until he thinks you’re better. He takes his guardian job very seriously.
He has urinary crystals, which needs to be managed with a specific diet. He is currently on Stella and Chewy’s pate food. He also has some chronic throat irritation, so he does best on wet food. Otherwise, Mikey is happy and healthy. He loves humans, but other animals stress him out a little bit. He would love a home where he can be your one and only chill companion.
