Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition—a local organization that’s dedicated to creating a no kill community by humanely reducing the cat population in the Milwaukee area through targeted trap-neuter-return (TNR)—to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: an affectionate little guy called Darth Vader (or Buddy).

Meet Darth Vader. Nothing like his onscreen counterpart, Darth Vader (a.k.a. Buddy) is an affectionate little softie with a shiny black coat that gleams like the galaxy’s finest starship. Found all alone in a wood pile at just two weeks old, he was hand-raised by humans. So naturally he adores people. This mighty mini Sith Lord starts purring the moment he spots his favorite people, even before he’s scooped up for some epic cuddles.

Darth Vader’s signature move is being held like a baby while gently holding your face with his front paws, as if he’s trying to read your thoughts. His love for belly rubs rivals his excitement for wand toys and bell balls. Just be warned: when playtime hits, his inner warrior shows up. With that in mind, he’d thrive with a young cat or kitten companion who can match his playful intensity.

Darth Vader would be thrilled to join any loving home, bringing balance to The Force (and lots of snuggles) along the way!
