Depending on which news sources you follow, Milwaukee is going through either a “renaissance” or a “reinvention.” However you want to define it, it’s safe to say that Milwaukee is currently building a lot of new and wonderful things! Here are some of them, brought to you by GTG Home Buyers!

• Remember that big mixed-use apartment complex that Milwaukee-based developer J. Jeffers & Co. announced for the Deer District back in 2023? That big mixed-use apartment complex that eventually turned into a big all-affordable apartment complex in 2025? Yeah, that one. Well, it’s still happening, and work on it is set to begin next week, in 2026.

The 269-unit “Fieldhouse Flats” will be located on the corner of MLK And McKinley, and will include, as the name suggests, a new 27,000-square-foot Milwaukee Area Technical College athletic facility. J. Jeffers & Co. describe the complex as “just steps from the Milwaukee Bucks’ 30-acre Deer District, with proximity to over 200 year-round events including Bucks home games, concerts, and comedy shows.” [Fieldhouse Flats]
