Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: talk radio for the sane.
After years of bad press and bad breaks, could it be that things are finally going Milwaukee’s way? Ryan, Evan, and Matt discuss Gov. Walker’s surprisingly not-awful plan to finance a new Bucks arena (his plan to decimate the UW system is acknowledged but ignored for sanity’s sake), the axed Kenosha casino, and the possibility of PBR kinda-sorta coming back to Milwaukee after all. Next, they marvel at the ridiculously great Arte Para Todos festival, which features just about every great Milwaukee band and artist playing a three-day benefit for local schools’ art programs. In the end, everyone agrees that it’s a good time for Milwaukee, even though something will probably come along next week and fuck it all up again.
