After a successful inaugural year, Maker Market is returning for its second season. On the first Sunday of each month between May and September, the parking lot of Bay View’s Colectivo will turn into an arts and craft fair. More than 40 local artists, crafters, and even makers will offer a variety of unique goods that range from custom prints, handmade jewelry, pottery, and soap to a heft of other great Milwaukee-made items.
Milwaukee Record will be there as well. Each month, we’ll be providing audio accompaniment with a local playlist from 10 a.m. until noon, before giving way to a musical act that will play until Maker Market concludes at 4 p.m. This month’s act is Thistledown Thunders. Before the Thunders kick us out, though, we’ll be selling some things of our own, including hand-printed Milwaukee Record t-shirts, individually-pressed buttons, and personally-Internet-ordered stickers.
Come down and knock out your Mother’s Day shopping while supporting local vendors. While you’re at it, stop by our table and say hey or tell us all the ways you feel we fucked up our Top 50 Milwaukee Albums list. Okay, please don’t do that last thing.
If you can’t make it out to the May 4 Maker Market, it (and Milwaukee Record) will also be in the Bay View Colectivo lot (rain or shine) from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 1, July 6, August 3, and September 7.
