Take yourself back to January 8, 2017. Five seconds remain in the first half of the 2017 NFL Wild Card Playoff game between the Green Bay Packers and the New York Giants. The Packers have the ball. It’s 4th and 2. Announcer Troy Aikman predicts the Packers will try to pick up a few yards, go out of bounds, and kick a field goal. As always, Troy Aikman is wrong. Instead, quarterback Aaron Rodgers drops back from the Packers’ 48-yard line and heaves the ball to the heavens. “Rodgers does this better than anybody,” drones announcer Joe Buck. No shit: Randall Cobb catches the Hail Mary in the end zone, giving the Packers a 14-6 lead going into halftime. The Packers eventually win the game 38-13. Awesome.
Yeah, the rest of the playoffs didn’t go the Packers’ way (again), but now you can own a Rodgers to Cobb Hail Mary bobblehead anyway. Courtesy of Milwaukee’s National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, this officially licensed, limited edition memento (only 216 are being produced) will set you back $55, plus $8 shipping, and is pretty neat. It joins the still-available Rodgers to Rodgers, and Rodgers to Janis Hail Mary bobbleheads that debuted in 2016. Sadly, a Rodgers to Hans and Franz bobblehead remains unrealized.
