Today, from 2-5 p.m. on the plaza outside Fiserv Forum, Milwaukee is invited to celebrate Giannis Antetokounmpo’s first MVP award at the aptly named “Giannis MVP Celebration.” Fans will be able to see kids from the Boys & Girls Club present Giannis with his trophy, as well as get a chance to check out the Milwaukee Bucks superstar’s first signature shoe, the Nike Air Zoom Freak 1.
It’s sure to be a shindig of epic proportions. But what if you can’t make it to the Fiserv in the next few hours? Well, thanks to Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele, today is officially Giannis Antetokounmpo Day (in Milwaukee County, at least). So feel free to celebrate any way you choose, and read the full executive proclamation below:
WHEREAS, The NBA Most Valuable Player Award is presented to the NBA player who showcased an exemplary performance during the regular season; and
WHEREAS, Giannis Antetokounmpo played a major role in leading the Milwaukee Bucks in an outstanding season with the best record upon entering the NBA Playoffs; and
