MILWAUKEE BREWERS ANNOUNCE RETURNING ALUMNI FOR LEGENDS GAME, FRIDAY, JULY 24, AT AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD
More than 30 Alumni Over 25 Years Reunite for the Must-See Fan Event: Ryan Braun, Yovani Gallardo, Corey Hart, Geoff Jenkins, Nyjer Morgan, Ben Sheets and More!
MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers today announced the full list of more than 30 returning alumni set to take the field for the Alumni Legends Game, presented by Northwestern Mutual, on Friday, July 24, at American Family Field – bringing together fan favorites and standout players from more than two decades of Brewers baseball for an unforgettable night.
Following the Brewers special Friday 3:10 p.m. game to start the weekend early against the Colorado Rockies, alumni will begin warming up on the field as soon as the final out is recorded, with the Legends Game scheduled to begin approximately 20 minutes after the last pitch.
Now fully revealed, the alumni roster spans players from the past 25 years of play at American Family Field, each eager to return to Milwaukee, reconnect with fans and reignite the competitive spirit that defined their time in a Brewers uniform.
“Last year’s Alumni Home Run Derby proved to be a magical event for fans, and we wanted to be creative in offering a similar type of experience for this unique Friday late-afternoon start,” said Brewers President – Business Operations Rick Schlesinger. “Alumni Legends games were a staple of entertainment for many teams through the 1980s but have disappeared for most teams since that time. We are excited to return the tradition to Milwaukee and bring so many fan favorites back to the field for a little competition and a lot of fun.”
Adding another layer of competition, former General Managers Doug Melvin and Gord Ash will square off as opposing GMs, assembling their rosters and for alumni coaches Ed Sedar and Garth Iorg to steer the ship in-game as managers.
The game will feature a three-inning format or run for one hour, whichever comes first. If the contest ends in a tie, it will be decided by a home run derby swing-off – ensuring a thrilling finish for fans in attendance.
Beyond the action on the field, fans can enhance their experience with the Alumni Legends Game Theme Night special ticket package, available now, that includes a limited-edition Bowling Shirt and an autographed photo card from a participating alum. Further celebrations that evening include $2.50 beer and brat specials and 25 percent off select merchandise at the Brewers Team Store until the first pitch at 3:10 p.m.
Additional pregame experiences will include select alumni stationed throughout the concourses for dedicated free photo opportunities from 1:50 p.m. – 2:25 p.m., giving fans even more chances to connect with their favorite players.
After last year’s sold-out Alumni Home Run Derby, this year’s Legends Game is expected to deliver another electric, can’t-miss atmosphere at American Family Field as generations of Brewers baseball come together for one unforgettable night.
