Miller Lite sponsors free rides in Milwaukee on St. Patrick’s Day weekend
The Free Rides program has provided over 9 million rides across the country since it began in 1988
MILWAUKEE – March 4, 2025 – For those celebrating St. Patrick’s Day weekend in Cream City, Molson Coors is once again partnering with the Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) to activate the Miller Lite Free Rides program. Milwaukeeans will be able to access fare-free public transportation from 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 15, until the end of regular service on all routes.
“From St. Patrick’s Day parades to green Miller Lite beer, we’re proud to help celebrate Milwaukee’s rich Irish heritage,” said Alison Hanrahan, community affairs manager, Molson Coors. “No matter where your celebrations take you, we want our Milwaukee community to feel confident knowing that free rides will be available on Saturday evening, ensuring everyone can get to their destinations with a reliable ride.”
Miller Lite’s Free Rides program, which began in Milwaukee in 1988, has offered public transit to residents for almost four decades, underscoring Molson Coors’ commitment to promoting responsible celebrations and serving its hometown communities. Since its inception, more than 9 million rides have been provided nationwide.
St. Patrick’s Day Free Rides kicks off the 2025 program, which will extend nationwide during other major holidays and sporting events throughout the year. In 2024, Molson Coors partnered with local transit in 10 cities to provide fare-free rides on four different occasions. Last year, the program provided more than 2,000 rides in the Milwaukee area alone for St. Patrick’s Day.
“Our continued partnership with Miller Lite to give back to the Milwaukee community is a true highlight of our year, and has been since 1988,” said Kristina Hoffman, chief customer experience officer, MCTS. “Together, we’re proud to support responsible celebrations and strengthen the bonds within our city, especially as both MCTS and Miller Lite celebrate their 50th anniversaries this year.”
In addition to Milwaukee, Molson Coors will offer Free Rides on March 17 to all those enjoying St. Patrick’s Day festivities in the Twin Cities.
