Girls Rock Gala Celebrates Ten Years of Summer Music Camps in Milwaukee

Fundraiser benefit to be held at Enlightened Brewing Company in May

MILWAUKEE, WIGirls Rock MKE will host a 10-year anniversary gala on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. The event will commemorate a decade of youth summer music camps, including testimonials from co-founders Valeri Lucks, of Honey Pie, Palomino, Comet and Small Pie; and Ashley Smith, of Alive & Fine, Hovercraft and One Trick Pony; as well as from dedicated volunteers and former Girls Rock campers; and a video retrospective produced by Betty Allen of Seadog Creative.

The Girls Rock Gala will be held in the beautiful Enlightened Brewing Company tap room in the Bay View neighborhood and will celebrate the organization’s past, present, and future with a special comfort food dinner catered by local favorite, Honey Pie, and beverages from Enlightened Brewing Company and Crafty Cow. The gala will feature a silent auction with unique offerings from local businesses.

Tammy Schliecher, Girls Rock Board President, said, “So many campers, families, volunteers and community members have poured love and support into Girls Rock MKE over the last ten years, and this Gala is a celebration of all they’ve done to build the organization. We can’t wait to look back on all that’s been achieved as we raise funds and look forward to the next generation of Girls Rock in Milwaukee!”
