Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: Talk radio for the sane.
It’s time to admit that the Milwaukee flag saga will never end. Like Star Wars or the career of Tom Selleck, there will always be another update, another wrinkle, another extension. Or, in the case of this week’s news, another process to design another flag, thus creating the very real and very dumb possibility of a THIRD Milwaukee flag. Ryan, Evan, and Matt discuss the Milwaukee Arts Board’s suggestion to hire an outside consultant (to the tune of $100,000) to make the whole “let’s design a new flag” thing more inclusive and, you know, more of an actual “people’s” flag. Ryan and Evan disagree on more than a few points, while Matt closes the show with some thoughts about deer hunting.
