What do you get when you combine one of Milwaukee’s favorite non-commercial radio stations with one of Milwaukee’s favorite non-controversial modes of public transportation? “Hustle & Faux,” WMSE 91.7FM’s upcoming live broadcast from The Hop!
Yes, on Monday, November 10, from noon to 3 p.m., longtime WMSE DJ Faux Eyes—a.k.a. Rush-Mor Records co-owner Bill Rouleau—will set up shop on The Hop and spin “local, indie, alternative, and punk tracks on the streetcar tracks.” Will there be special surprise guests? Yes. Is the public invited to jump aboard during the broadcast and enjoy the action in person? Yes! (WMSE will announce route specifics closer to the date.)

“Hustle & Faux” will be the third WMSE/Hop collaboration. In 2023, there was “Transit Transmissions”; in 2024, “Hip Hop Hooray.”
“We’re thrilled to welcome WMSE back aboard The Hop for another year of their rolling broadcast,” says Jerrel Kruschke, City of Milwaukee Commissioner of Public Works, in a press release. “Partnerships like this highlight how The Hop connects people not only to destinations and to each other, but also to the creative spirit that defines Milwaukee. It’s exciting to see the streetcar used in unique ways that celebrate local culture and bring new energy to our downtown.”
Says WMSE Station Manager Tom Crawford: “The Hop is more than a mode of transportation. It is a community connector that brings residents and visitors together. Our Hop broadcasts capture that same spirit by blending creativity, collaboration, and connection. It is always one of our favorite days of the year.”
