Like it or not, the holiday season is upon us. While we’re not exactly looking forward to wintry conditions, endless shopping and wrapping, and tense family gatherings, at least most of us can get behind the joy and wonder provided by holiday movies. Thankfully, Avalon Theater has rounded up an impressive and eclectic blend of seasonal cinematic standbys with its “12 Days Of Classics” series.

Over the course of a dozen (mostly) weekend days and nights between December 3 and Christmas day, the Bay View theater will have a total of 15 screenings of nine holiday and holiday-adjacent films. Included in this wintry mix are all-time Christmastime classics like White Christmas and It’s A Wonderful Life, modern favorites like Elf and The Polar Express, kid-focused “Pizza With Santa” screenings of The Star and Elliot The Littlest Reindeer, and, yes, they’re showing Gremlins too.
