Though Hugh Masterson left Wisconsin for the country music mecca of Nashville a few years ago, Wisconsin hasn’t left him. Since moving, Masterson has toured extensively, gotten some airplay on CMT, and released his standout Lost + Found EP last year. Through it all, the northern Wisconsin native has made sure to return to his longtime home of Milwaukee with regularity.

Fresh off his recent Milwaukee Bucks halftime performance and before his April 16 show at Shank Hall, Masterson is on the cusp of earning the opportunity to play Luck Reunion with Willie Nelson and other heavy-hitters in the folk, country, and Americana realm next month. He needs a little help to get there.

Masterson is a finalist in Southwest Airlines’ “Artist On The Rise” promotion. The contest offers the opportunity to play the March 15 festival. The former Milwaukee music mainstay has been teetering between first and second place in the contest’s waning days. Today (February 23) is the final day to vote. If you want to help a rising star with local ties open for a country legend, cast your vote now. Just watch the video for “Lost + Found” and click “Cast Vote” when the icon turns red.
