How did you spend your 2024? Maybe you worked a lot, ate some food, watched some TV, and dreaded the coming year. You know, the usual. But if you happen to be Milwaukee rock band The Keystones, your 2024 was filled with a handful of stellar new songs, a rare all-local show at The Rave, an ultra-rare show in the parking lot of the Brady Street Walgreens (to go along with new song “The Wolf Of Walgreens”), and more. You know, the usual.

And the year isn’t over yet! The Keystones recently released another new song, “Red And Blue.” It’s a swaggering, sweltering, and hook-y hard rock ditty in the mold of ’00s-era bands like Queens Of The Stone Age. Like previous 2024 Keystones releases (“Walgreens,” “Suckerpunch”), the song will be included on a five-song EP to be released in early 2025.

“We’ve been really inspired by this new wave of alternative hard rock coming out of the UK, Canada, and parts of the US right now,” says Keystones singer Jack Sherman in a press release. “These songs are a both a love letter and a response to bands like Kid Kapichi, Des Rocs, Royal Blood, Reignwolf, Cleopatrick, Dead Poet Society, and so many others—bands that are using rock to explore themes of political dissent, personal disillusionment, and more.”

If you’re jonesing for some live Keystones, you can catch the band Friday, December 6 at The Cooperage for a big single release show / “Keystones Holiday Special” show. Secret Menu, Bug Moment, and Motherwind will play in support. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Oh, and two thumbs up on this promo:
