In this era of the multi-hyphenate, it’s becoming incredibly common for actors you know from film or television to come to Milwaukee to perform in a musical capacity. In just the past few years alone, the city has hosted Billy Bob Thornton’s rockabilly band, Kiefer Sutherland’s rock outfit, Johnny Depp’s Hollywood Vampires, “DJ” Paris Hilton, Steve from Stranger Things‘ psych rock project, Steve Martin’s occasional banjo performances, and (of course) Corey Feldman‘s unforgettable Shank Hall show.
On May 3, you can add another name to that odd and ultra-specific list of actors/musicians when Hayley Orranita takes the stage at Potawatomi Hotel & Casino’s Northern Lights Theater. Though she isn’t exactly a household name, people with a television or any proximity to the show’s confusing advertising presence on buses likely recognize Orranita as Erica Goldberg on The Goldbergs. Apparently, when she’s not playing the daughter on the popular ABC sitcom (that, we must admit, actually has its moments), Orranita is trying to make a name for herself in the world of country music.
The Northern Lights show is one of the final stops on her “Strong, Sweet & Southern” tour. Tickets are $20-$25, with the option to add a VIP Meet & Greet for an additional $50. No, it’s not exactly Macaulay Culkin’s “The Pizza Underground” playing Hotel Foster, but this is still a somewhat strange show that might appeal to fans of nostalgic network comedies.
