It seems like its been an eternity since Maritime’s last record came out. Though the longtime Milwaukee indie rock dream team—which we think we’re legally obligated to mention is composed of members from Promise Ring, Decibully, and The Benjamins—plays one-off club shows, area festivals, and local tribute-based benefits often enough to stay in the city’s good graces, it’s been more than four years since the release of the band’s most recent album, 2011’s Human Hearts. Months removed from putting out its local love letter of a music video for a new song called “Milwaukee,” Maritime has announced plans for its long-awaited fifth full-length.

Magnetic Bodies/Maps Of Bones will be released via Dangerbird Records on October 16. Maritime drummer Dan Didier tells Milwaukee Record the band’s local release show will take place at Cactus Club on October 17. Before the record comes out, Maritime plans to release a music video, and the band will play a four-show run of October gigs in Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Washington DC, and Cleveland. Check back for more details as the release date approaches. In the meantime, you can see and/or hear Maritime on 88Nine Radio Milwaukee’s 414 Music Live at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, and catch a full Summerfest set at the KNE New Music Stage on Saturday, June 27 at 7:15 p.m.
