With the official beginning of winter just mere days away, it’s safe to say metro Milwaukee won’t be hosting any festivals for a while, right? Wrong! Festival season really never ends around these parts anymore. In fact, it seems to only be getting stronger and wider-reaching with each passing year. Even winter has a growing number of festivals to keep spirits high when the temperatures are low.

Adding to the ever-improving winter festival landscape is a brand new two-day affair called Burn Bright MKE. The first-year fest was created by DIY booking wunderkind JJ Kaiser, who aims to “showcase some of the best up and coming bands in the emo/alternative space” at X-Ray Arcade in nearby Cudahy on February 24-25.

The February 24 portion will be headlined by Oklahoma emo outfit Ben Quad, along with performances by Charmer, Saturdays At Your Place, Sign Language, Equipment, Arcadia Grey, and Liquid Mike. The following night, X-Ray will host Pennsylvania emo purveyors Carly Cosgrove, as well as Heart To Gold, Stars Hollow, Blind Equation, Prize Horse, Hey, Ily, and Trsh. Tickets are $30 per day or $50 for both days. They’re now available now on X-Ray Arcade’s website. YES!
