One event we failed to mention in our otherwise thorough and exhaustive Summer Festival Guide was MishMash Fest. Since The Fatty Acids unofficially christened the inaugural event with an amp fire back in 2011, the plucky Riverwest festival has grown and evolved. In the years after that memorable outset, MishMash Fest has transitioned from a single-site affair in the quaint confines of Art Bar to a two-day block party with two stages (one of which is at nearby Dino’s) that have hosted an impressive list of past musical acts that includes Animals In Human Attire, Calliope, Crappy Dracula, Uncle Larry, Slow Walker, Platinum Boys, Midnight Reruns, Antler House, Tigernite, Mortgage Freeman, Whips, Young Revelators, and many more.

MishMash Fest 2019—Friday, July 26 at the intersection of Burleigh and Fratney streets—has scaled down to a single-day affair for the fifth straight year (to coincide with the start of Riverwest 24), but has managed to pack its two stages (at Art Bar and Dinos once again) with an eclectic mix of great Milwaukee bands and a pyrotechnic performance by Prismatic Flames. Even though plans were only just finalized, the tardy announcement doesn’t look to have any bearing on the quality of performers. Here’s who will play the 9th annual MishMash Fest.
