Back in February, Immortal Girlfriend—a.k.a. the “Dark Knights of Synth”—continued its streak of outstanding output with the surprise release of Sojourner. Arguably the best track on the altogether commendable seven-song EP is “Calling,” a standout single that boasts soaring production, bumping beats, and undisputed hooks. Today, the sibling synth duo’s radio-ready song got an equally impressive visual pairing in the form of a new music video.

Directed by James Tindell, the “Calling” video features Immortal Girlfriend (brothers Kevin and William Bush) acting as ringside commentators during a Turner Hall wrestling match. That is, until an act of violence against a treasured keepsake belonging to Kevin sends the siblings over the top rope and into the middle of the action. Tindell shot the footage on 16mm film to help “create a cohesive blend of nostalgia” because “pro wrestling and synthwave music both straddle a line between the past and present.”

Between the high-flying wrestling, the unique concept, the cool aesthetic, the performance footage, and the outstanding song playing over it all, you should do yourself a favor and watch the “Calling” video below.
