The second year of Blackbird Bar’s “From The Stage To The Booth” DJ series has already seen beloved local bands like The Championship, GGOOLLDD, Heavy Hand, Canopies, and Fresh Cut Collective plopping down behind the turntables to serve as the Bay View beer bastion’s musical guides for a particular Friday night. December 5, Milwaukee Record co-founders and editors Tyler Maas and Matt Wild will take their turn behind the ones and twos to “curate” (barf) a playlist that highlights the high quality and vast variety of artists in Milwaukee’s music scene. In addition to spinning songs (and clicking iTunes tracks) from noted locals of past and present, the pair will sprinkle in a few selections from unreleased albums from the likes of Whips, Canopies, and others, as well as bending the rules with a few non-Milwaukee cuts thrown in.
Beyond the localized soundtrack, Milwaukee Record shirts will also be available for purchase and stickers will be given away. With Blackbird offering 85 Wisconsin-brewed beers, it’s only fitting that you listen local while you drink local. See you Friday, December 5.
