Now that we’re a few days into the last full month of summer, the season’s impending conclusion is beginning to come into view. But hey, it’s going to be okay because there are still lots of local festivals that will be taking place between now and the end of summer. Also, Milwaukee’s festival season will once again keep going strong well into autumn.
Today, Cactus Club gave us a post-summer plan to look forward to with the announcement of the Bay View venue’s 10th annual installment of Beet Street. On Saturday, October 4, the so-called “fall festival” will celebrate “the season, community causes, and multimedia art” with a day of live music, vendors and other area organizations, food and beverages, and fun for the whole family that will be happening both inside and outside of the business.
This year’s Beet Street will run 1-7 p.m. on a portion of Wentworth Ave. and Potter Ave., immediately followed by an after party that will take place inside Cactus Club from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. Monday’s event announcement also featured details on the festival headliner and the after party headliner. Seminal Brazilian psych rock outfit Os Mutantes will close out the outdoor portion of Beet Street proper and Australian EDM artist Ninajirachi will have the honor of headlining the after party.
Beet Street is made possible through support from presenting sponsor Educators Credit Union. Additional sponsors include Outpost Natural Foods, Milwaukee Record (that’s us!), 91.7 WMSE, Milwaukee Arts Board, Visit Milwaukee, La Gritona, Lakefront Brewery, Anodyne Coffee, and Years.
Stay tuned for the full entertainment lineup and for a comprehensive Beet Street guide as the event draws closer. Until then, save the date because one of the city’s best fall fests is coming to Cactus Club on Saturday, October 4. We’ll see you there!
