They Might Be Giants have been busy. Last week, 14 days ahead of their two-night fall tour kickoff at Milwaukee’s Pabst Theater, the forever awesome alt-rock legends released a new song, “Milwaukee In 14 Days.” It was about how they’re playing Milwaukee in 14 days. It was incredible.
And now, with only seven days to go, wouldn’t you know it, TMBG have crafted another new song. Yep, it’s “Milwaukee In 7 Days.” And yep, it’s pretty much the same song as “Milwaukee In 14 Days.” Except John Flansburgh sings “one week” instead of “two weeks.” And the video has more random photos thrown in. It’s incredible.
The Milwaukee shows are set for Thursday, September 24 and Friday, September 25. Similar to TMBG’s 2024 tour, the first set of each show will spotlight a single (and different) album; the second set of each show will be stuffed with fan favorites and deep cuts.
“Two sets. Three horns. Eight-piece band. Starts early. Gets loud. These shows are an ‘An Evening with.’ No opener,” the band says on their website. “The opening set will spotlight a different album each night, and there are two unique second sets prepared. All the favorites including some special new songs from The World Is To Dig will be played! Door usually at 7, we are on stage at 8 p.m. sharp.”
Hell yeah. We’re looking forward to the inevitable “Milwaukee In 1 Day.” In the meantime, here’s a random deep cut that we always have in our heads.
