Welp. Wednesday morning, the Milwaukee Public Market posted this message to Facebook:

To our extended Market Family:

Based on the new guidelines set out by the State, the market is enforcing a full closure to the public, effective immediately, until further notice. This includes customers for carry-out and to-go orders.

A number of our vendors are exploring curbside pickup and delivery services and we will get information out about that offering in the coming days.

In addition, vendors are making plans to donate existing food and other products to many of their employees, as well as first responder groups and food pantries.

This is obviously the most challenging time the public market and much of the greater Milwaukee community has ever faced. But we have never seen such camaraderie, support and encouragement among our management team and the vendors. During a difficult time we all did what we could to help and encourage each other. It has exemplified the “magic of the market” and how resilient and amazing this family is.

We speak for everyone at the market when we say we will continue to work tirelessly to help steer us through this situation and eventually reopen with the same vigor and energy that people have grown to expect from us.
From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who supported, and continues to support us throughout this period.

At the end of the day, the health and safety of everyone at the market is most paramount and want to make sure all of you do what you can do stay well.

Thank you,

Market Management
