In case you missed last week’s installment of our Carryout Chronicles series, Iron Grate BBQ Co. is committed to serving up excellent barbecue and incredible southern sides in an exclusively to-go capacity. If you’re not in the mood for great BBQ at the moment and you’re seeking some wintry comfort in the form of soup instead, you might be happy to learn the Howell Avenue restaurant just announced a new “virtual restaurant” called South Side Soup MKE. The restaurant sent out a press release about the new venture.

“We started a virtual restaurant! We love eating soups and even more, making them. Food heals and soup is the answer. We wanted a reason to make wholesome, homemade soups for cheap easy meals and simple ordering. We’ll feature a few hot soups daily and continue to build and offer frozen quart of varieties and styles. Hearty stocks, vegetarian and deep soulfully cooked rich stews and bisques will make their way on. We’ll post menu weekly for the forecast flavors and continue making new soups weekly. Stay warm, stay safe and enjoy!”

South Side Soup will begin serving on Wednesday, January 27. You can place orders HERE. Here’s the first menu.
