If you’re a David Lynch obsessive like we are, you’ve been mainlining Lynch movies, Lynch TV, Lynch documentaries, Lynch music, and Lynch clips ever since the director’s death in January. Ugh. Just typing that reminded us that he died. On the same day as Bob Uecker—a fact that’s somehow both Lynchian and Uecker-esque!
Anyway, let’s get to why you’re here: the schedule for Oriental Theatre’s David Lynch retrospective. The Milwaukee Film program runs throughout April and includes nearly all of Lynch’s feature films (we’ll miss you, The Elephant Man and The Straight Story), a collection of his short films, and, yes, a Twin Peaks costume contest to go along with Fire Walk With Me. LET’S ROCK.
“Pay your respects to the great David Lynch by seeing his films on the big screen as intended. These screenings will bring die hard fans and budding enthusiasts together to celebrate one of the foremost visionaries of cinema as an art form,” says Milwaukee Film’s programming director Kerstin Larson. “And the costume contest for our Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me screening is not to be missed!”
All films begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. All other screening info can be found in the links below. Fingers crossed for some quinoa at the concession stand.
