Since 2013, Mythicist Milwaukee has been promoting “dialogue about culture, religion and freedom of thought” throughout the city and beyond, in the form of podcasts, films, events, and more. This Saturday, from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. at the Pabst Theater, all of those approaches will come together at Mythinformation Conference IV, a day-long blowout that asks the question, “Is faith rooted in fiction?” What’s the opposite of Betteridge’s law of headlines?

Anyway, one of the highlights of the conference is the world premiere of Batman & Jesus, the latest film from King’s Tower Productions and writer/director Jozef K. Richards. What’s it about? Well…

Batman & Jesus is the third feature-length film and first feature-length documentary film from King’s Tower Productions and writer/director Jozef K. Richards, starring Paul Provenza (The Green Room with Paul Provenza, The Aristocrats, The Tonight Show), made in association with Pink Lady Media and Mythicist Milwaukee. Batman & Jesus seeks to introduce the evidence both for and against a historical Jesus of Nazareth to a wider audience using contemporary examples in pop culture to draw comparisons, using improved scholarship on existing films of its kind. Batman & Jesus will include research, interviews, and vetting from some of the field’s top scholars, authors, historians, and public secular voices including Dr. Robert M. Price, Dr. Richard Carrier, David Fitzgerald, Aron Ra, Faisal Saeed Al Mutar, Allie Jackson, and musician Killah Priest.

Yep, Paul Provenza and Killah Priest (who was a speaker at the second Mythinformation Conference) are in it. And Batman. And Jesus. Here’s the trailer. (Click here for more information on the conference.)
