Each August since 2016, Milwaukee Fringe Festival has showcased live acts from the worlds of theater, music, dance, and visual art downtown in Pere Marquette Park, Marcus Center’s Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall, the Todd Wehr Theater, as well as other surrounding venues. Following the upstart festival’s encouraging first four years, organizers decided to bring Fringe Fest back for another installment in 2020.

Today, the dates for the 5th annual Milwaukee Fringe Festival was announced. The event will return to Marcus Center For The Performing Arts from Friday, August 21 through Sunday, August 23. Additionally, organizers announced they’ll begin accepting submissions to perform starting Saturday, January 25. Submissions will be taken at that time via Fringe’s official website. FESTIVAL AND SUBMISSION DATES FOR 2020 MKE FRINGE ANNOUNCED

MILWAUKEE, WIS – Milwaukee Fringe Festival announces performing dates for the 2020 event at the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts on Friday August 21st, Saturday August 22nd and Sunday August 23rd, 2020. The festival will accept submissions for performing and visual artists of all kinds interested in participating in the event starting Saturday, January 25th via the official website: www.mkefringe.com.

In its 5th year, the Milwaukee Fringe Festival will provide live performances and art displays to give an opportunity for local, regional, and national artists to perform while strengthening the fabric of Milwaukee’s arts-going community. The annual event in Downtown Milwaukee will utilize the Marcus Center’s Wilson Theater at Vogel Hall, Todd Wehr Theater, and surrounding areas.

Submissions for the Festival will be accepted from a variety of disciplines including (but not limited to) theater, dance, music, and the visual arts. The submission form will be live on the festival’s website www.mkefringe.com and will remain open from January 25th-March 15th, 2020. There is a discounted Early Bird submission fee of $20 through February 8th, 2020, with the standard submission fee of $25 in effect February 9th through March 15th.

Artists of all disciplines are encouraged to submit proposals of what they envision for their MKE Fringe show, along with examples of their past work. Submissions will be reviewed by the Milwaukee Fringe Festival Panel and accepted artists will be assigned a performance slot(s) in the Milwaukee Fringe.
