Every Wednesday at noon, Ryan Schleicher, Evan Rytlewski, and Matt Wild take to the WMSE airwaves to discuss all things Milwaukee. This half-hour fun-fest is called The Disclaimer, so named because none of the oft-ridiculous views expressed on the show necessarily reflect the views of the hosts’ employers. Milwaukee music, Milwaukee art, Milwaukee events, and D.I.Y. lawn care tips are frequently discussed—and rarely agreed upon. The Disclaimer: Talk radio for the sane.
For the past few years, Silk Exotic has been attempting to open a “gentlemen’s club” in downtown Milwaukee, only to find the city blocking its attempts at every turn. The endless stalemate has been a bummer to strip club aficionados like OnMilwaukee’s Dave Begel (“I want to talk about my strip club experience, which is fairly vast,”) and the amount of money the city owes Silk in legal damages is approaching $1 million. So is creating a dedicated “adult entertainment district”—as recently proposed by Ald. Tony Zielinski—the answer to the Silk/Milwaukee dilemma? Ryan, Evan, and Matt belly up to the stage and discuss this bizarre idea, gingerly slipping singles to the notion of zoning a possible “red light district,” and politely tipping the plan to locate such a district in a “heavy industrial area.” BUT FIRST! the three hosts discuss the uncertain future of Apple Music, which recently ended its free three-month trial and changed to a subscription-only streaming service.
