Milwaukee Record is working in partnership with Urban Cat Coalition to help find loving homes for area cats. Each week, we—with generous sponsorship from Skilos, A Family Pet Store—plan to highlight a feline friend that’s currently up for adoption by naming it “Milwaukee Record’s Cat Of The Week.” This week: the affectionate and outgoing Yuki.
Yuki was found and rescued in the middle of a cold December. She had a rough pregnancy and two of her kittens have severe cerebellar hypoplasia. We were told by nearby residents that Yuki had been seen out and about for a while, but she had to have been a pet at some point because she was affectionate and outgoing to people right away. Yuki took to indoor life quickly and she loves sitting by the window to look outside. She loves being petted, and will butt your hand with her head in order to get scratches on her chin and cheeks.

Yuki took excellent care of her kittens, despite the harsh conditions outside. She is ready to settle down in a quieter home. She does well with young children and tolerates the resident cats. She does not care for the resident dog and would much prefer being the sole kitty in your house, unless she gets adopted with one of her kittens. She and her lookalike Flurry are often found snuggled together.
This lovely lady seems content to sit somewhere high and watch the world around her. She’s pretty chill and relaxed. She has been exploring all the bedrooms in the foster home, has tried out all the beds, and seems to prefer nightstands for some reason. Yuki would be a great companion for someone looking for a quiet roommate.
